From dream
to reality!

Communication agency, IT services company, micro-business, SME, large company or fellow freelancer: are you looking for a software architect or a sharp technical expert?

Are you snowed under, short of staff or facing a very specific technical problem?

That's where I come in.

Software architecture, Python and C++ expertise, AI integration, web applications and mobile apps, biomedical work, as well as project management, auditing and application maintenance are my areas of choice. I will put my expertise and skills at your disposal so that together we can make your dream a reality!

Whether your need is urgent or one-off, whether your company is based in France or abroad, I will stand by your side as a professional who is passionate about computing, approved for the Innovation Tax Credit (Crédit d'Impôt Innovation, CII) in Lyon (in French).

In the beginning

8 years old: that's how old I was when I started programming.

It was on the keyboard of the family Amstrad CPC 464 that I first laid my future computer scientist's hands.

As a little boy, I deeply admired those programmers who managed to create a beautiful video game by typing line after line of incomprehensible code.

So I wrote my first programs in Basic. I quickly learned to be very careful when I realised that "going back" also meant "deleting the code"! Later, I learned other languages: an old DX2 66 PC helped me discover C, then I took on Visual Basic on a Pentium.

Meanwhile, maths lessons at secondary school let me show what I could do, thanks in part to my TI92 calculator and the games I programmed on it and shared with my classmates.

The turning point

My brother had a friend who was studying at the University of Strasbourg. Together with a group of students, he was working with OpenGL on a car racing game, or rather a doughnut racing game!

It was this slightly crazy project that made me understand what I really wanted to do later on: I was going to be a programmer!

Taking the controls

To reach my goal, I naturally went on to study computer science, first earning a BTS (a French two-year technical diploma), then two master's degrees.

For the next seven years, I worked for IT services companies where I learned a great deal and grew into the roles of project manager and quality assurance manager.

I then joined several start-ups, including Sofathome in Lyon, where I worked as team leader and as a mobile and server (C++) engineer.

The biomedical sector also opened its doors to me, through the French Tech company Keranova. There I had the opportunity to work on an ophthalmic laser surgery robot for treating cataracts.

Today I bring a solid technical background built over 20 years of experience in roles as varied as software engineer, technical expert, project manager, technical director and quality assurance manager.

Computing,
a passion

I'm lucky enough to be genuinely passionate about my work and about computing in general.

I love being able to automate things and I avoid doing the same task twice whenever I can.

That's actually why I built smarties.io, a complete custom home automation hub for my house. I would rather spend hours designing an automatic watering system than water by hand in a few minutes!

I'm also absolutely fascinated by 3D. The 90s gave us the golden age of the demomakers. These artists optimised their code so brilliantly that they managed to give us mind-blowing 3D animations in programs of less than 100 Kb!

Once the preserve of enthusiasts, computing is now part of everyone's life. Buying a train ticket at a machine, checking your email on your phone, turning on the TV or filing your tax return: every day we end up using a computer!

Code,
and more

Of course, code and programming are the foundation of my job. However, I also place great importance on design, communication and creativity, without which it would be impossible to deliver a quality finished product.

We must never forget that our work is meant for users whose first impression is visual. A polished program must therefore look good, but also be easy to use, so as to give the user an experience beyond their expectations.

A few extras

Mission Playstation: at secondary school, when people wanted to play burned games on their Playstation, I was the one they called. I can even boast of having fitted mine with completely useless fans... In fact, come to think of it, I can say I've taken apart every console that has crossed my path!

Hacking: yes, I confess, around the same time I set up a small hacking team with two accomplices...

My student flat: I spent sleepless nights there setting up servers on Debian Linux with a friend. We tried them all, even the most useless ones! I'd like to take this opportunity to give special thanks to Alexis Delattre for his invaluable tutorials!

My final-year project for my Licence (bachelor's degree): I built an OpenGL 3D engine, which gave me the immense pride of presenting, after nine months of hard work, a three-minute real-time animated film.

I look forward to getting in touch with you very soon.
