Freelance Python engineer: code that holds up in production

Sébastien Mizrahi is a software engineer who builds backends, AI platforms and business tools in Python. PCEP and PCAP certified, he works from Lyon for companies all over France.

Plenty of people can write a Python script. Delivering a service that can be tested, deployed and monitored, and that the team can still evolve three years from now, is an engineer's job.

I was a senior software engineer at Keranova, on a laser surgery robot where Python sat alongside C++ under the IEC 62304 standard. Since 2022, as a freelancer, I have been developing Python services for Alinto (SOGo 6) and for the Alfred AI platform.

I take care of the design as well as the development: project structure, choice of libraries, tests, continuous integration and going to production.

Services

What I do for you

Backends and APIs

REST services with FastAPI or Flask, data validation, authentication, OpenAPI documentation, access to SQL databases.

Asynchronous tasks and automation

Task queues with Celery, data imports and synchronisation, scheduled jobs, command-line tools.

Tests and going to production

Automated tests with pytest, continuous integration, Docker images, deployment on Kubernetes.

Applied AI

LLM integration with LiteLLM, RAG on your documents, TensorFlow and Keras models for Deep Learning needs.

Frequently asked questions

Your questions, my answers

What is the difference between a Python developer and a Python engineer?

Both write code. The engineer also takes charge of the design: project structure, choice of libraries, tests, deployment and operations. That is the role I play on my assignments.

Which Python frameworks do you work with?

FastAPI and Flask for APIs, Celery for asynchronous tasks, pytest for tests, LiteLLM for LLMs, TensorFlow and Keras for Deep Learning. I also take over existing Django projects.

Can you take over an existing Python project?

Yes. I start with an audit of the code and its environment, then I propose a prioritised recovery plan. See the Python and C++ code audit.

Do you work remotely?

Yes, for companies all over France. I am based in Chaponost, next to Lyon, and I travel when it helps. See also Python consultant across France.

Let's get in touch

A demanding project? Let's talk architecture.

From Chaponost, near Lyon, on site or remotely. A quick reply with a first analysis of your needs.
