The job of a software developer is not limited to a single speciality: that would be too easy!
Web developer, front-end, back-end, full stack or big data: it's enough to make your head spin...
Let me tell you about the job of a mobile developer.
Today, tablets, smartphones and smartwatches are part of our daily lives. These precious objects never leave our pockets or bags and stay switched on for three-quarters of the day on average.
That is why the job of mobile app developer, or mobile developer, was born. It is one of the many specialisations of the programmer's trade.
Their role is to design and build native mobile applications and to organise their deployment on the different platforms, iOS and Android. They may work on games, music, videos, written content, bookings, geolocation or communication services such as chats or messaging, in concert with the backend.
In short, they're everywhere!

More precisely, a mobile developer has many responsibilities:
They must follow the specifications drawn up by the project manager as closely as possible, and choose the most suitable technical solutions.
They are then in charge of designing the application or updating it, and must improve it if it already exists. They run a testing phase, fix any bugs or other technical issues, handle publication on the stores and may take care of maintenance.
To keep the app attractive over time, they must plan its future evolutions and even think about adding new features.
Rigour, flexibility, responsiveness, creativity and organisation are the essential qualities of a good mobile developer. Great curiosity and constant technology watch are of course a must!
Finally, programming mobile applications calls for many technical skills, including a good command of mobile technologies: Swift & Objective-C for iOS, Kotlin & Java for Android.
To reach your customers anywhere, at any time, think mobile apps!
There are more and more of them, and they are increasingly used by people who want fast, smooth browsing with a well-structured design. That is why most e-commerce sites steer their visitors towards downloading an app. By offering them usability and a user experience optimised and well suited to mobile, they make buying easier.
Today, customer experience is paramount. By building a mobile app, you take an extra step towards your visitors and show them your commitment even more. So it is essential to give them an easy-to-use app in order to build, and also maintain, a special relationship with them.
A well-designed mobile app can help you develop your communication and build customer loyalty. How? With notifications! These little reminders can become very valuable for your business: they significantly increase users' interest in your brand.
In fact, when I worked for SQLI, the technical unit I was responsible for had developed a notification platform for mobile apps, offered to clients. For example, it was possible to send geolocated notifications (a shop's promotions for customers within a 15 km radius, for instance).

Naturally, a website that has its own mobile app is listed on platforms such as the App Store or Google Play Store.
This gain in visibility and brand image for your company can let you look at your business from a different angle.
You can offer your customers new options through reminder services or live chat.
Finally, to manage your appointments remotely and as efficiently as possible, consider an online calendar through a mobile app. You stay reachable at any time and anywhere.
Your customers can't forget a single meeting or the smallest booking thanks to your e-calendar; our beloved notifications take care of reminding them!
Today, designing apps is an integral part of the developer's job. As a programmer passionate about computing, it felt only natural to make mobile development one of my specialisations. Curious as ever, I took an interest very early on in this field and its technical specifics.
So, as early as 2009, I didn't hesitate to launch a personal project by building my own app in the form of a social network: Friend Locator. It had 60,000 active users.
Later, in 2011, following the creation of the "Groupama Toujours là" mobile app, I had the privilege of being among the winners of the International Dynamic Enterprise award. Cocorico! It was the very first time this award had gone to France.
Comfortable moving from one work environment to another, I was at the same time responsible for the mobile technical unit at the European services group SQLI. As I enjoy teamwork, I trained and managed staff there on internal projects.
Then, for 7 years, I developed the EQualOne speed test and network quality analysis app, whose SDK was integrated into the apps of the largest international mobile operators.
