Le Programmeur: the story behind the brand

Le Programmeur: the story behind the brand

Have you ever needed the services of a developer?

If the answer is "yes", your first reflex to find the right person was probably to switch on your computer and browse from one website to the next. But it isn't always easy to choose the right professional when you don't work in the digital world, especially as, to you, all programmers' websites look a bit, or even a lot, alike!

So you will soon see why and how I chose to take a different path!

DESIGN
TO STAND OUT

You can be the best in your field, but if you don't make sure you catch the public's attention and adapt your language for as many people as possible, it is absolutely pointless! Don't worry, I'm not here to bombard you with technical skills!

As we all know, first impressions are vitally important, and unless you are blind, they are visual most of the time.

My core business is coding, and let's not forget that it opens up a huge field of possibilities. So what kind of programmer would I be if I couldn't present you with a creative, attractive website, consistent in its choice of colours as well as its typography?

After all, if you are going to hire me, I might as well show you a sample of what I can do right from the start, don't you think?

Here, I chose to immerse you in an atmosphere where shades of mostly violet, then pink and blue, stand out against a darker background, creating a glowing effect. This fairly limited colour range let me keep a certain restraint, so that I could play freely with animations and neon effects.

Restraint again when it comes to my logo. "Le Programmeur" has a narrow, italic sans-serif style, which sits in harmony with the "Mohave" typeface used for the headings, again for the sake of consistency. As for body text, I chose a fairly rounded geometric sans-serif, "Spartan", which is pleasant and well suited to fluent reading on screen.

When you step into "Le Programmeur", you enter a world full of aesthetics and technology, but above all, you take a step into my world...

BACK,
TO THE FUTURE OF THE 80S

Welcome to the retro-futurism of the 80s!

Ah! What an era...

At last, computers were no longer just for professional use: Sega, Amstrad and Atari offered us entertainment we had never seen before, and at home, what's more!

While we marvelled at the first video games and the arrival of computers in our homes, Hollywood fed us one extraordinary story after another.

These science fiction films showed us, pessimistically or humorously, a future that now looks dated, but so creative! They became cult classics for several generations and helped shape me, both as a person and as a professional.

From "Tron" to "Back to the Future", these films marked my youth and they all have very particular aesthetic markers, the very ones that now belong to the world of "Le Programmeur".

You will probably spot a few of these references as you browse my site, whether through nods to the neon effect mentioned earlier, or through the use of the low poly style, so typical of the 80s.

Low poly? Of course you know it: it's the illustration style that creates a 3D effect by breaking shapes down into simple polygons. In fact, for a low poly immersion, I invite you to take a walk in the charming forest waiting for you on the home page...

Carefully crafted aesthetics for an ever more pleasant user experience, all wrapped up in playful animations. A retro geek or vintage geek world, but a world where everything makes sense!

If you enjoyed your stroll around "Le Programmeur", all that's left is to get in touch !
